Therapeutic Action
Indications
Rapid conversion to a normal sinus rhythm of paroxysmal supraventricular
tachycardias (SVT)
Aid in the diagnosis of narrow complex tachycardias when the origin of the tachycardia is not clearly established.
Instructions for use
Must be given by rapid IV bolus, immediately followed by a rapid flush of 20 ml of 0.9% NaCl.
Posology (adults):
- Initial dose: 6 mg by rapid IV injection
- If no reversion to sinus rhythm in 1‐2 minutes: 12 mg by rapid IV injection
- If no reversion to sinus rhythm in further 1‐2 minutes: 12 mg by rapid IV injection
- Maximum total dose: 30 mg
Administer only in hospital settings with monitoring and cardiorespiratory resuscitation equipment available for immediate use.
During administration, continuous ECG monitoring is necessary due to the risk of fatal arrhythmias.
Verapamil or diltiazem may be used as alternative if adenosine is contraindicated or in case of supply constraints.

Precautions for Use
Contraindicated in patients with:
- second or third degree Atrio-Ventricular (AV) block
- bronchial asthma
- sick sinus syndrome
- severe hypotension
Storage
- Bellow 25ºC
- Do not refrigerate.
- After opening the vial, use the product immediately. Discard any unused remaining product.
