Function

A comprehensive electrical installation tester used to verify safety, performance, and regulatory compliance of fixed electrical installations in accordance with IEC 60364 and EN 61557 series standards.

Primary functions:

  • verification of voltage presence, frequency, and wiring integrity
  • measurement of insulation resistance to detect degraded or unsafe cabling
  • continuity testing of protective conductors and bonding
  • assessment of loop and line impedance to validate fault disconnection conditions
  • calculation of prospective fault currents (PEFC / PSC)
  • functional testing of RCDs to ensure correct tripping time and current
  • measurement of earth electrode resistance
  • verification of phase sequence in three-phase systems

Specific applications:

  • hospital commissioning: validation of earthing, insulation, and RCD protection before energizing health facilities (e.g. maternity wards, operating theatres).
  • generator grounding: Measurement of generator earth electrode resistance using the 3-pole method to ensure safe fault dissipation.
  • RCD verification: routine testing of residual current devices in wet or high-risk areas (latrines, kitchens, washing areas) to prevent electric shock.
  • cable diagnostics: identification of insulation degradation in underground or ageing cables that can cause nuisance tripping or generator faults.
