Instructions for use

In case of supply issues with rectal applicators, diazepam can be administered intra-rectally using a syringe:

  • Use a 1 ml syringe without needle
  • Gently insert the syringe approximately 1 cm into the anus. Take care to avoid causing harm to the child during insertion.
  • After administration, firmly hold the child's buttocks together to prevent leakage of the medication.

As an alternative to rectal diazepam, midazolam can be administered intra-nasally using a mucosal atomization device.
